Why you should use MyMB Sirim Approved Product instead of purchase from any other third party product ?

It is an offence of using not Sirim MCMC approved communication device in Malaysia, and the fine is up to RM 100,000 and /or Imprison of up to 6 months. Unlike MyMB product, most of the booster product available in the market is not Sirim Approved, but is it worth to buy from other source and commit an offense that may lead to jail term ?

You may think you can just keep the booster inside your building and the MCMC officer will surely don’t know it, but it is not true. Actually they can know it very easily from the signal emitted from the outdoor antenna, even from the Telco base station side they can detect the mobile signal booster system and locate the area easily especially if you use inferior product on the market that do not pass Sirim test. Once the Telco launch complaint to MCMC, the MCMC officer will knock your door to check whether your mobile signal booster system is Sirim approved or not. Do not bluffed by supplier that say they are CE approved or FCC approved so it is safe to use, in Malaysia, MCMC only recognize Sirim label and not CE , FCC or whatever.

Please refer to FAQ Q24 below released by MCMC regarding the use of communication device :

SKMM FAQ Communications Equipment Certification:

Q24. Will consumers be penalised if they buy and use any communications equipment which is not certified?

Consumers should not buy or use any communications equipment which is not certified by SIRIM. When purchasing communications equipment, they should always look for certification mark or label as described in Q20 above. They should not also be confused with any foreign certification mark such as ‘FCC’ or ‘CE’ because it does not imply that the equipment complies with local requirements. The equipment may not be suitable to be used locally and may cause interference, impairment, or malfunction of, or harm to any communications equipment or any other equipment. It may also compromise the safety of the general public.

A person who uses a non-certified communications equipment commits an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding one hundred thousand ringgit (RM 100 000.00) or imprisonment for a term not exceeding six (6) months or to both [Regulations 16 and 37 of Communications and Multimedia (Technical Standards) Regulations 2000].

How to know the product is Sirim certified ?

long range booster for high rise building

The diagram illustrates signal coverage extension for a high-rise building. Suppose the facility has 13 levels, 11 floors and 2 basements. For example of a scenario, there are some signal dead zone in certain area from level 1 to level 11. The basement and inside the elevator are ” dead spot ” which can not access any signal from base stations. A way of solving this problem is to install LR-Series booster system and indoors distributed antennas to extend the coverage of mobile signal within this kind of large building. Users will see a noticeable increase in indoor coverage for their mobile networks.
